This Trailer Break Cable is a legal requirement and is essential for safety reasons. Designed to fit onto your trailer coupling, the cable hooks over the towball when towing and loops around, clipping back on itself. If the trailer were to come uncoupled from the tow vehicle at any point, the breakaway cable is designed to pull the brakes on, then break away from the towball, separating the tow vehicle from the trailer.

Where a designated attachment point is provided on the towbar

a) Pass the cable through the attachment point and clip it back on itself

a) Fixed ball - loop the cable around the neck of the towball, use a single loop only.
